Scuba
Diving in the Central Pacific by
Central Pacific Way
To dive into
the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean is,
without a doubt, a gratifying and relaxing experience, but to be able to breathe
underwater and to explore the deep and blue sea bottom is a wonderful adventure
because you will discover an underwater splendor that you will never
forget.
And the reason that
makes scuba diving so special and spectacular in Costa Rica’s
Pacific is to be able to witness the different ecosystems under the sea surface,
to observe the delicate coral systems populated by sea fans, to dive among rock
formations and small caves or to explore the islands out at
sea.
The abundant sea life
will please the most experienced divers. You will be able to dive among the
smallest and most colorful tropical fish, angel fish, butterfly fish, hunchback
and bicolor loros, moor idols, and blowfish; or among the bigger and intelligent
cetaceans like dolphins or hunchback whales. You will be able to see octopuses,
lobsters, sea turtles, white tip sharks, majestic manta rays or the eagle ray, a
never ending parade of species in front of your eyes. You will not want to come
out to the surface.
It does not matter if
you are an professional diver of if you have never dived, Costa Rica’s Central Pacific is the ideal
place to learn to dice since there are several professional operators that will
teach you all that is necessary for you to have your first dive and where you
will be able to get the required training to obtain P.A.D.I certified courses in less than a
week: Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver or Rescue Diver.
The dive masters in Herradura
Beach are Herradura
Divers and in Quepos
are Oceans
Unlimited; both have instructors and “dive masters” with years of experience
that will make your underwater adventures safe. In Herradura Beach there are several diving points
known as Coral Medio, Jardín, backyard, pesebre, cuevitas, guapinol, and
aplastada. In the area of Quepos and Manuel Antonio the diving points are known
as Orocuita, Punta Quepos and Isla larga. These two companies also offer other
destinies like Tortuga
Island or Caño
Island.
If you are a diving
enthusiast, in the Central Pacific you will find the perfect stage and the
