Commitment to the Community
On Saturday, March 24, 2007, Costa Developers SA held a
tree-planting event at their Costa Esterillos residential community which was attended
by Alexis Madrigal who is the Coordinating Chief of the zone of Parrita for MINAE (National Ministry of Environment
and Energy), members from the local government (Parrita Municipality) including
the Mayor of the town of Parrita, Gerardo Acuña, Roger Godinez from the
Municipal Council, Esterillos' local school, Centro Educativo Esterillos Oeste
(students and staff), representatives from La Nación (national newspaper), and
employees of Costa Developers.
"Thank you for the great help and support," said Jorge Jorge Flores, COO of Costa Developers SA.
"The goal of this project is both to add to the natural beauty of Costa
Esterillos and Costa Reserva, as well as provide erosion control and landscape
enhancement to the properties. This is truly a labor of love" Flores continued.
Costa Developers SA donated over 1,500 trees
including Corteza Amarilla,
Guachipelín, Gallinazo, Guayabon, Cristóbal, Roble Sabana, Nazareno, and Cedro
Amargo. Costa Developers SA also applauded
the dedication of the volunteers; approximately 75 children from Centro
Educativo Esterillos Oeste. “Their sweat and
enthusiasm made this event a success.” The students themselves also benefited
as they came away from the event with a greater respect and knowledge of the
local forestry.
