According to the World Tourism Organization, the motivation provided by Central American governments to promote a major tourism growth in the area gave good results in the last years.
In the American context, Central America is the sub-region with the greatest growth. In 2006, it had almost 7 million arrivals, which contributed with 5 thousand million dollars. Each one of the Central American countries has its own personality and very specific proposals for the different demand segments.
