NASA mission in Costa Rica

Tropical Composition, Cloud and Climate Coupling (TC4) is the name of a NASA mission currently underway in Costa Rica. Some 230 researchers and technicians partake in the mission, whose cost is estimated at $20 million and that also involves two NASA lab planes; a third one is scheduled to join the team after undergoing repairs in Houston. The goal of the research is analyzing cloud formation and its role in global warming. The research flights cover the whole area to the coasts of Panama and Colombia, and a maximum altitude of 60,000 feet.
