New marina in Quepos
Thursday, July 19
Quepos, on the Costa Rican Central Pacific, will be home to Marina Pez Vela (Sailfish Marina), designed to berth 300 boats of up to 180 feet. It is expected to provide 3,000 new jobs and to promote technical training and the protection of the environment. With a starting $16.6 million investment, the project is expected to start operating in August 2008. According to the development’s chairman, Harold Lovelady, the project also includes a 100-room hotel, 60 condominiums, and a shopping center, among other facilities. A dry dock will start operating in 2010, Lovelady pointed out.
